Åsestranda kindergarten was established in 1991 and is owned by the parents of the children who attend there. The kindergarten is situated in a natural setting by the shore, which provides a unique setting for play and learning. The outdoor area is varied and includes an obstacle course, gap hut and climbing opportunities in the forest. In addition, there are two protected burial mounds nearby, which contribute to the site's cultural-historical value.
The nursery also has a boathouse with its own beach and electricity, where activities are organized throughout the year. In the spring, a lavvo is set up, and a small motor boat is available in the marina for various outdoor activities. Åsestranda kindergarten collaborates with the Rescue Society through Eliasklubben, which gives the children the opportunity to learn about safety and rescue in water.
