Kystverket Nørve has overall responsibility for safe and efficient traffic along the coast and into ports. The office is part of the Norwegian Coastal Administration, which also has national preparedness against acute pollution. In addition to these tasks, the Coastal Agency works with measures related to climate change and maritime infrastructure, as well as the shadow fleet and collection of insurance information.
Kystverket Nørve offers digital solutions for pilotage recommendations and self-service services. The office is involved in tenders for port development and actively participates in maritime weeks and exercises to promote safety and preparedness in shipping. Through its work, the Norwegian Coastal Administration contributes to a safer and more sustainable maritime sector.
