Sunnmøre Regional Council IKS is a cooperative body for the municipalities of Giske, Haram, Hareid, Herøy, Norddal, Sande, Sandøy, Skodje, Stordal, Stranda, Sula, Sykkylven, Ulstein, Vanylven and Vestnes. The organisation's aim is to contribute to positive development in the member municipalities and in the region as a whole. This is achieved through the promotion of Sunnmøre's political interests, support for a diverse working life and development of municipal services.
The regional council leads various collaborative projects between the municipalities and functions as a meeting arena for research and innovation. In addition, they organize representative board meetings and joint meetings for inter-municipal cooperation, with a focus on restructuring and innovation. Through these activities, Sunnmøre Regional Council seeks to strengthen cooperation between the municipalities and contribute to sustainable development in the region.
