Marint Kompetansenter is an educational institution that collaborates with companies within the marine industry for the recruitment and training of apprentices. The centre's aim is to ensure successful apprenticeships leading to professional certificates, and offers courses in aquaculture as well as fishing and trapping. The institution is approved by DNV for maritime education services and by the Norwegian Maritime Directorate, which confirms the quality of the education offered.
In addition to apprenticeship training, Marint Kompetansenter administers the cadet scheme and develops courses that are adapted to the needs of the industry. The center has an extensive network of member companies in the marine sector, which gives participants opportunities to make contacts and gain practical experience. Marine Competence Center has locations in both Ålesund and Kristiansund, and plays an important role in the development of competence in the marine industry.
