NORDKALOTTFOLKET is a political party with representation in Troms and Finnmark County Councils and the Sami Parliament. The party aims to promote equality between different ethnic groups in the North, with a particular focus on Sami and Kven culture. NORDKALOTTFOLKET works to strengthen the recognition of Sami industries and cultures, and emphasizes sustainable development and local politics.
The party is engaged in issues related to Sami health and transport, and has 15 representatives ready for the Sami Parliament in the period 2025–2029. NORDKALOTTFOLKET wants to contribute to increased knowledge and a strengthened identity through activities such as courses and seminars, as well as by creating meeting places for discussion about the culture and history of the North Calotte. Their policy is developed based on experiences from the North, with the goal of safeguarding and promoting a different way of life that characterizes the region.
