Alta Folkehøgskole offers a varied educational offer with a focus on outdoor activities and Arctic nature experiences. The school has specialized lines such as dog sledding, freeriding, hunting and fishing, and gives students the opportunity to experience Sami culture. Through environmental projects and personal development, the school facilitates a safe community, where students can share experiences and learn together.
Activities at Alta Folkehøgskole include skiing, avalanches and nature photography, and there are also opportunities to experience Svalbard. The school offers both half-year courses and electives, which gives students flexibility. The location in spectacular northern Norwegian nature provides a unique setting for learning and experiences, and students gain solid hiking experience in the areas around the Alta River, the Finnmark Alps and Vidda.
