Bleiksdjupet (the Bleik Canyon) is an underwater trench off Andøya where deep ocean water lies unusually close to shore. Cold, nutrient‑rich upwelling turns it into a dependable feeding area for whales, with sperm whales as the headline act. The easiest way to “see” the canyon is by joining a whale safari from Andenes and watching the sea drop away beneath you.
