Bergens Maskinistforening was founded on December 27, 1873 and has a long history in organizational work. The association works for both working members and retirees, and offers a number of member benefits, including access to a private 4-room apartment in La Cala de Mijas, Spain. The apartment is equipped with a garage, elevator and storage room, and is located in a gated complex with four swimming pools, a short distance from the city center and the beach.
The association rents out party rooms for various events such as anniversaries, weddings, confirmations and baptisms, in addition to its own meetings and festivities for members. In addition, business premises and apartments are offered for rent. Den Nasjonale Scene is the association's largest tenant, which emphasizes the importance of the premises as a central meeting place in Bergen.
