SFI MediaFutures is a research center that originated at the University of Bergen. The center focuses on responsible media technology and innovation, with a particular emphasis on artificial intelligence and its impact on the media industry. Through collaboration with users such as NRK, TV 2, Schibsted, Bergens Tidende, Amedia, Vizrt and Faktiskt, the center works to develop platforms for research and development in media technology.
The center is known for its excellent science communication and actively participates in public debates, including events such as Arendalsuka. In addition, SFI MediaFutures organizes annual meetings and conferences, including ACM SIGCHI, which brings together researchers and practitioners to discuss current topics in media technology. The center also collaborates with renowned national research institutions such as the University of Oslo, the University of Stavanger and NORCE, as well as several international research environments.
