The Veterinary Institute of Bergen is a research institute specializing in fish health, fish welfare and marine biosecurity. The institute has a team of 350 employees working on research and innovation within these areas. In connection with the opening of new premises, the Fish Health Report 2017 was published, marking an important milestone for the institute's work.
In addition to research activities, the Veterinary Institute organizes short lectures that provide updates from ongoing research. These events also include debates about the marine knowledge cluster in Bergen, which promotes cooperation and knowledge exchange between different actors. The institute collaborates closely with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries and the Norwegian Food Safety Authority to strengthen fish health and sustainable management of marine resources. Tours of the new premises are offered to provide insight into the institute's work and facilities.
