Cathedral Vågsalmenningen is one of the oldest churches in Bergen, established in 1150 AD. The church has elements from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, which gives it a historical value and architectural variety. The Cross Church is known for its open approach and functions as an accessible church for the entire city.
As part of its diaconal work, the church offers spaces for silence and reflection. Visitors have the opportunity to use the Light Globe, where they can communicate thoughts, joys or sorrows. In addition, it is possible to have conversations with a priest, deacon or volunteers, who are available to support and guide those who wish to do so. The church emphasizes being an inclusive space for everyone.
