Alt Går Bra Lokale is a multi-purpose space in Bergen, run by the artist group Alt Går Bra, which is based in both Bergen and Paris. The group was founded in 2015 and has since developed the space to function as a studio, gallery and event venue. Various activities such as lectures, debates, reading groups, film screenings and workshops are held here. The space also houses a unique mimeograph printing house and publishing house, which has been dedicated to publishing since 2016.
One of the notable projects from Alt Går Bra Lokale is the publication of a book focusing on Strandamalere, a popular painting style in Norway. The book is a 300-page volume that brings together research from academics, curators and authors, and includes photographs and material from Alt Går Bra’s own archive. Contributions from renowned institutions such as the University of Bergen and the Sorbonne University give further weight to the project, which also shines a spotlight on self-taught painters and their unique perspectives on Norwegian nature. Book launches are planned in both Bergen and Oslo.
