Lydgalleriet is a non-profit platform for sound art and sound-related art, established in 2005 by a group of musicians, artists and art historians. The gallery aims to explore the diversity of sound-based art practices and auditory cultures. As Norway’s only permanent exhibition platform for such practices, Lydgalleriet offers a diverse selection of exhibitions and projects that promote experimentation and innovation.
The gallery has had several renowned artists and sound artists involved in its programs, and also engages in community-based art projects. In 2025, Lydgalleriet will host The Listening Biennial, which will further strengthen the focus on the development of the sound art program. The atmosphere of the Lydgalleriet is designed to support creative processes and provide space for new ideas within sound art.
