Åpen II is a sculpture by the artist Gunnar Torvund, located in Bergen. The sculpture is made of bronze and has a clear representation of Edvard Grieg's profile, which connects it to the famous composer. The dynamic shape of the sculpture means that it is experienced differently depending on the viewer's perspective, which provides an interactive experience for those visiting the site.
In addition to Grieg's profile, the sculpture contains small animals in relief on the side facing the HF building. There is also a hidden pattern of Nina Grieg's profile in the design, which adds an extra dimension to the work. Åpen II was unveiled in 1995 to mark the 150th anniversary of Edvard Grieg's wife, which further reinforces the sculpture's historical significance.
