Bergen Spine Center is a private, commercial hospital specializing in spine surgery and treatment. The hospital was established in 2006 by surgeons Sjur Braaten and Asbjørn Bøe, and was previously known as Vestnorske Ortopediske Sykehus. In connection with a collaboration with Stockholm Spine Center, the name was changed to Bergen Spine Center to reflect this connection.
The center has a public agreement with Helse Vest, which makes it possible to offer hospital services to patients in the region. Each year, Bergen Spine Center performs over 400 spine surgeries, making it the largest commercial health institution in Hordaland within the spine field. Patients are assigned a private room during their stay, which contributes to a more comfortable and private treatment.
