Vestnorsk Jazzsenter is a regional production and competence center for jazz, located in Bergen. The center aims to promote live jazz through active stage operations and offers a platform for both established and young musicians. An important part of the activities is the Bergen Big Band, which is based here, as well as various concerts and festivals aimed at young jazz musicians.
In addition to stage operations, Vestnorsk Jazzsenter organizes regional touring activities and international projects, such as Nutshell. The center focuses on talent development through the Gig Academy, which gives young musicians opportunities to develop their skills. Vestnorsk Jazzsenter is supported by the Norwegian Arts Council and several counties, and functions as a musical meeting place for jazz enthusiasts and artists, with a strong focus on collaboration both locally and internationally.
