The Bergen Labour Inspectorate is part of the national Labour Inspectorate, which has as its social mission to ensure a safe and inclusive working life. The office is responsible for supervision and guidance to businesses, with a focus on health, working environment and safety. This includes handling working environment issues such as harassment and whistleblowing, as well as offering resources for risk assessment and health, environment and safety work (HSE).
The Labour Inspectorate also provides information on employment contracts, dismissal rules, and regulations and rules that apply to the working environment. The office also offers support to safety representatives in their tasks, and provides the opportunity to report objectionable conditions. In addition, they publish podcasts and reports that deal with topics related to working life and safety.
