The Bergen Air Ambulance Base is part of the Norwegian National Air Ambulance Service, which has operational responsibility for the air ambulance service in Norway. The base has a vision to ensure safe air ambulance services, and works actively to safeguard the interests of patients through a user committee. This helps ensure that the service is adapted to the needs of those who use it.
In order to maintain national standards and requirements for employees, the base has an air coordination center that ensures efficient operations. In addition, they have a medical technical workshop for the maintenance of necessary equipment. The air ambulance base has several locations spread across the country, which enables rapid response in emergency situations. In addition, they offer observation at the bases for training health personnel.
