The Dignity Center Foundation is a national center of expertise for elderly care, located in Bergen. The center focuses on collecting and disseminating knowledge in areas such as palliative care, dementia, emergency medicine, volunteering and culture. Through practice-oriented continuing education, courses and professional days, they offer professional training to health personnel and other actors in elderly care.
The center also functions as a meeting place for networking and is a platform for information work and research dissemination. The Dignity Center emphasizes the importance of art and culture as part of preparedness for mental health in the elderly. The organization works actively to ensure a dignified old age for vulnerable elderly people in Norway, and engages various stakeholders such as health personnel, volunteers, patients, relatives and decision-makers.
