Noklus, established in 1992, is a non-profit organization headquartered in Bergen, affiliated with Haraldsplass Diakonale Hospital. The organization was founded by the Norwegian Medical Association, the Central Association of Local Authorities and the Ministry of Health and Care Services, with the goal of improving the quality of medical laboratory services in Norway. Noklus has laboratory consultants and medical specialists affiliated with 22 hospitals across the country and collaborates with the four regional health authorities as well as Fürst Medisinsk Laboratorium.
Noklus offers courses and guidance in quality control for healthcare personnel, and has developed e-learning courses to strengthen competence in the field. The organization plays a central role in international professional meetings such as EQALM, and focuses on quality work in medical biochemistry and microbiology. In addition, Noklus contributes to research and development in the healthcare sector and is involved in projects related to home care and diabetes care. Noklus celebrates its 30th anniversary with a continued commitment to quality and competence.
