Bergen International Film Festival AS is the largest film festival in Norway, presenting over 150 films annually. The festival has a particular focus on documentaries, but also includes fiction films and short films. In addition to film screenings, special screenings and talks are arranged that address current topics, giving the audience the opportunity to engage in discussions about the content and meaning of the films.
The festival also offers a sustainable film breakfast as part of the program, as well as events aimed at school students and young people. A unique feature is the "Bring your own chair" screenings, which provide an informal and creative experience for participants. In addition, the winner of the Norwegian music video competition is presented during the festival, and BIFF Ung gives young filmmakers a platform to showcase their work.
