Cinematheque in Bergen is a cinema that has been part of film history since 1992. It is aimed at film lovers and offers a varied program with a focus on both classics and lesser-known films. The cinema shows films in both analog and digital format five days a week, and has a wide selection of screenings that appeal to different audience groups.
Among the special programs are theme nights such as Samurai classics and "A Woman's Perspective", where film series from a female perspective are presented by professors of film studies. Cinematheque in Bergen also has a tribute to Robert Redford, where selected films from his career are shown. In addition, the cinema collaborates with other cinematheques in Norway for joint screenings, and offers Cinematheque junior with child-friendly film screenings every Sunday.
