The Ocean Observation Laboratory is a research unit affiliated with the University of Bergen. The laboratory's main task is to collect and analyze data about the marine environment, with a focus on both physical and biological aspects. This includes monitoring ocean currents, temperature, salinity and ecosystem processes.
Research at the Ocean Observation Laboratory contributes to a better understanding of the ocean's role in climate change and environmental conditions. The laboratory collaborates with national and international research projects, and actively participates in the development of new methods for ocean observation. Through its work, the laboratory advances knowledge about marine resources and sustainable management of ocean areas.
