Bergen Academy of Art and Design is an educational institution that offers research-based education at bachelor's, master's and PhD levels. The institution has a focus on art, music and design, and brings together leading academic communities within these fields. With around 700 students and 190 employees, the academy is organized into three departments: the Academy of Fine Arts, the Grieg Academy and the Department of Design.
The academy educates future artists, designers, musicians and educators, and emphasizes collaboration with relevant institutions both locally, nationally and internationally. In addition, Bergen Academy of Art and Design includes fellows affiliated with PhD programs in artistic development work and scientific research, which contributes to a dynamic and innovative learning environment.
