The Vestland Association of Disabled People is a non-profit organization that works to promote user participation among disabled and chronically ill people. The organization offers opportunities to become a user representative and has a broad focus on health and rehabilitation. FFO Vestland has representatives in several health enterprises and municipal councils, and there is mandatory training for those who want to get involved as user representatives. In addition, experience forums and theme evenings are arranged to strengthen the community and knowledge sharing among members.
FFO Vestland is part of a larger national structure with 88 member organizations that together represent over 365,000 members. In Vestland, the organization covers 80 member organizations with approximately 40,000 members. FFO Vestland also has council members in county and municipal councils for people with disabilities in 43 municipalities, as well as user committees in the specialist health service at all enterprises in Helse Vest and NAV. The organization runs the Information Center for the Disabled, which functions as a multi-purpose building for 32 organizations in Bergen.
