The Norwegian Environmental Protection Association is an independent, voluntary organization founded in 1993, with headquarters in Bergen. The organization is known as Norway's most active in environmental protection and has a wide range of focus areas that include both local and international environmental issues. With regional offices in Tromsø, Trondheim and Oslo, NMF has a nationwide commitment and mobilizes active members and local environmental groups to promote environmental protection.
The organization works to challenge pollution sources and politicians, as well as to promote sustainable development. NMF engages in calls for marine protection and responds to environmentally harmful measures, such as illegal dumping and the extinction of species.
