Ensimäinen rakenus is an interest organization for artists who work with three-dimensional art. The organization runs the Sculpture Office and the exhibition project Sculpture Arena East, which aims to promote sculpture art in Norway. One of the central activities is the Norwegian Sculpture Biennale, which is Norway's largest exhibition for three-dimensional art.
In addition to arranging exhibitions, Ensimäinen rakenus also offers competitions and dissemination of art to both public and private players. The organization focuses on highlighting Kven cultures and traditions through artistic expression. The project "Ensimäinen rakenus" specifically examines Kven sauna traditions and architecture, and has had exhibitions in various locations, including Carl Berner subway station.
