Blood bank NLSH Bodø is a blood donor service that operates in Bodø. The center has approximately 2,500 active blood donors and carries out around 5,000 blood transfusions each year. In addition to donating blood, they carry out approx. 4,000 blood transfusions annually, which is an important part of the health service.
The blood bank also handles specific blood products, including the transfusion of approx. 300 bags of platelet concentrates and treatment of approximately 1,500 bags of plasma each year. The center offers an electronic blood donor form to simplify the process for blood donors. Furthermore, they have a focus on research and innovation within blood bank services, as well as arranging courses and training for patients and relatives.
