Nordland Museum is an institution that focuses on showcasing Northern Norwegian culture and history, with a wide range of exhibitions that extend from mountain areas to coastlines. The museum houses several unique subdivisions, including the Jektefartsmuseet, Saltdal bygdetun, Kjerringøy Handelssted, Løp Gård, Fauske bygdetun, the City Museum in Bodø and the Hamsunsenteret. These units give visitors the opportunity to explore various aspects of the region's cultural heritage.
The museum also offers a number of events and activities, such as temporary exhibitions, creative Thursdays, afternoon tea, as well as special events for children. Historical walks and various themed evenings, such as ghost evenings and reflections on the industry's past, are also part of the programme. In addition, newsletters are published that keep the public up to date on upcoming exhibition openings and summer programmes.
