The Conflict Council in Nordland is a state service that offers mediation for parties in conflict, whether it concerns offenses or civil matters. The service facilitates meetings where the parties can discuss and process feelings related to events, as well as ask questions about unresolved matters. An important part of the process is that the parties themselves decide the content of the agreement that is entered into.
The Conflict Council also offers special arrangements for people under the age of 18, as well as opportunities to delete cases from the police record after two years without new offences. The service is free and available to everyone of all ages. In addition to the head office in Bodø, the Conflict Council has branches in Mosjøen and Svolvær.
