Solstreif Steiner Kindergarten was established in 1987 and offers an educational program based on Rudolf Steiner's principles. The kindergarten has three departments: The Nursery, The Dwarves and The Elves, which provide opportunities for adapted learning and development for children of different ages.
The building, which dates from around 1850, has high ceilings and bright rooms, and the interior is decorated with natural materials in warm colors. The outdoor area is varied and includes playground equipment, old fruit trees and a kitchen garden, which gives children the opportunity to explore nature and participate in outdoor activities. The kindergarten is located centrally in Drammen, but is well protected by surrounding buildings, which creates a safe and quiet environment for the children.
