UGB Yoga School originated in Venezuela, where it was founded in 1948 based on the teachings and guidance of Serge Raynaud de la Ferriere. The school has established yoga institutes in several countries, with a particular focus on Spanish-speaking nations in South and Central America as well as Spain. In Norway, UGB Yoga School has offered courses in yoga and meditation since 1983, with activities in Drammen and nearby areas.
The school emphasizes a holistic approach to yoga, where both physical and mental health are central. Through the teaching, a synthesis of different aspects of yoga is presented, and one works progressively from basic elements to more advanced techniques. Francesco Suria, who has over 40 years of experience in teaching yoga, serves as teacher and representative for UGB in Norway.
