The Meeting Place, run by Kirkens Bymisjon in Drammen, offers a low-threshold café service aimed at vulnerable groups, including drug addicts and other marginalized individuals. The café functions as a social hub, where guests can find an inclusive community and a safe space for socializing. Reasonable, hot meals are offered, and guests can eat as much as they want during the day for a symbolic sum.
In addition to serving food, the Meeting Place provides access to guidance and conversation, as well as the opportunity to borrow a phone for contact with NAV and public offices. There are also PCs with free internet available, which gives guests the opportunity to stay updated and communicate with the outside world. The café arranges various activities and workshops, which contribute to a varied offer and a community characterized by care and belonging.
