Tverken sports chapel is a timber-framed building located at the Tverken exit. The chapel has a capacity of 125 seats and is characterized by traditional material choices, with a roof covered with shavings and walls that are tarred. The building was designed by city architect Alf Bugge, and it was opened with great participation, with over 3,000 people present.
The initiative for the construction of the chapel was taken by parish priest Ole Narum, and in 1937 two church bells were donated by Consul P. Christensen. Tverken sports chapel thus has both a cultural and historical significance in the area, and it stands as an example of local architecture and community involvement.
