DE FORENEDE SKOFABRIKKER is located at Landfalløya 26 in Drammen and has a rich history that dates back to 1898, when it was founded by Gudbrand Halmrast under the name Halmrast & Karlsen. The building has had several uses over the years, including as a school for BI Buskerud from 1980 to 1994. In the period from 1995 to 2015, the premises were used by the schools Sonans and Akademiet upper secondary school, before the Akademiet took over the operation alone.
The school is approved on a humanistic basis and focuses on individual adaptation in teaching. Emphasis is placed on ethical, democratic and humanistic values, and a learning method with less teacher-directed teaching is offered, which gives students greater freedom to immerse themselves in the subjects. With a small school culture, close contact between students and teachers is maintained, which contributes to a positive and inclusive school day. The school has been in operation since 2013 and aims to offer a different school experience.
