Drammen Museum, established in 1996, serves as the county museum and gallery for Buskerud. The museum is located at Marienlyst in Drammen, but also has several museum buildings and park facilities around the city. The permanent collections include Nøstetangen glass, baroque silver, 18th-century Drammen faience, urban furniture, textiles, interiors, church art and folk art, as well as an art and design collection.
The museum has a strong focus on accessibility and inclusive offerings, and offers tours and learning programs specifically aimed at children and young people. In addition to the physical collections, Drammen Museum emphasizes digital communication of art and cultural history. The pleasure garden at Marienlyst and the associated gardens, including a Japanese garden, contribute to a holistic experience in green surroundings. The museum actively collaborates with associations and volunteers, and participates in research and project support within cultural history.
