The Conflict Council of the South-East has the task of offering a safe meeting place for parties in conflict. Through mediation as a tool for conflict resolution, participants are given the opportunity to process their own feelings related to the incident. The parties also have the opportunity to determine the content of the agreement that is entered into, which may have significance for further consequences, including the impact on the police certificate for the accused.
In addition to mediation, the Conflict Council of the South-East offers conferences on violence in intimate relationships, with a focus on crime prevention. It is also worth noting that cases can be deleted after two years, provided that there have been no new offenses. This provides an opportunity for parties in conflict to move forward without long-term consequences.
