The Control Committee Secretariat in Buskerud and the surrounding area IS is a public agency that functions as an intermunicipal cooperation between 30 municipalities. The agency was established in 2005 and its main task is to provide secretarial and investigative assistance to the control committees. This includes preparing cases to be dealt with by the committees, as well as following up on decisions made by the municipal council and county council.
The secretariat plays an important role as an operational link for the control committees, and helps to strengthen trust in municipal activities. In addition, they prepare plans for management audit and corporate control, which is essential for ensuring good management and accountability in the municipalities. The board of the secretariat is elected by the control committees, and the activities are run in line with the statutes that regulate their work.
