Drammen Theater, established on February 8, 1870, has a long and traditional history as a central cultural center in Drammen. The theater was completely damaged in a fire in 1993, but was rebuilt and reopened in 1997, with a new glass foyer and an additional stage. This has enabled the theater to offer a varied program that includes classical theater, concerts, lectures and stand-up, which attracts both locals and visitors.
The theater is known for its engaging performances and has been home to famous artists such as Anne Marit Jacobsen and Bård Tufte Johansen. In addition to the regular program, Drammen Theater organizes special events such as "Christmas Magic" and "Night Of Famous Musicals". The theater also collaborates with the National Theater to bring unique productions to the audience, which further enriches the cultural offer in the city.
