Uloba SA is an organization that offers Citizen-Directed Personal Assistance (CDI) with the goal of promoting independence for people with assistance needs. The organization was developed by disabled people for disabled people and is the largest facilitator of CDI in Norway. Uloba works to ensure that people with assistance needs can live freely and independently, and they are actively involved in decision-making support councils to improve the services offered.
As part of the Independent Living movement, Uloba follows the principle "Nothing about us without us", which emphasizes that disabled people themselves have the best knowledge of their needs. The organization consists of members who are disabled and who work together to achieve a better everyday life and increased freedom. Uloba is organized as a non-profit cooperative, which means that the members own and manage the organization, thus ensuring that their voices are heard in the development of services and support schemes.
