Lysefjord (Lysefjorden) is a famous fjord in the Ryfylke area of Rogaland, in southwestern Norway. Its name is linked to the light-coloured granite cliffs that line the water. The fjord is about 42 km long and reaches depths of over 400 metres.
Lysefjord is best known for two iconic viewpoints: Preikestolen and Kjerag. Preikestolen rises about 604 metres above the fjord and is one of Norwayâs signature nature sights. The combination of bright rock faces and a narrow fjord corridor is what makes the scenery feel truly dramatic.
