Green Research Hub (HiØ) is a research and development unit located in Fredrikstad, focusing on methodology for the selection of thermal insulation in buildings. The center aims to promote energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which is in line with the global sustainability goals. A key goal of the project is to contribute to the achievement of ZEB (Zero Energy Building) assessment, which is a standard for buildings with zero net energy consumption.
The project, which is funded by the EU, involves collaboration between several international actors and academic institutions as well as industry partners. The research spans a period of 42 months, starting in November 2023. In addition to the focus on thermal insulation, the project also includes research on circular economy and artificial intelligence, which can contribute to innovative solutions within the construction sector.
