The Salvation Army Fredrikstad Corps has been part of the local community since 1888, offering a range of services focused on caring for people in vulnerable situations. The organization is known for its motto “soup, soap and salvation”, which reflects their work to meet basic needs. In addition to food and hygiene products, they also offer street football as an activity for belonging and community.
The Corps also runs Fretex Jobb, an initiative that aims to help people into the workforce. They have several second-hand shops that sell rare treasures and vintage clothing, and the income from these shops goes to their social work. The Salvation Army is actively involved in the local community and offers education and assistance work as part of their extensive offering. In addition, they have a national telephone service for people over 60, which provides support and assistance to older people in the community.
