Skulpturstopp Fredrikstad is a park that houses three monumental cast iron heads of young girls, created by the artist Jaume Plensa. Each sculpture is approximately 4 meters high and is modeled after real people. The digital processing of the works before production in cast iron gives them a modern dimension, while retaining a classic form.
The sculptures are specially designed for their location on Phønixbrygga, where they stand in contrast to the surroundings with their peaceful and introverted expression. The vertically stretched forms add a fluid and spiritual touch, inviting visitors to reflect. Skulpturstopp Fredrikstad is thus an artistic element in the cityscape, combining monumentality with a personal approach.
