Østerhus kindergarten is located in Grimstad and offers an inclusive and diverse community for children. The kindergarten has two departments, Løvetann for the youngest children aged 0-3 years, and Blåklokke for children from 3-6 years. In its educational work, Østerhus focuses on the project "Being Together", which aims to strengthen relationships between children and adults.
The kindergarten places great emphasis on the authoritative adult role in creating safe and predictable environments. Play, mastery, humor and laughter are prioritized in everyday life, which contributes to a positive learning environment. Østerhus kindergarten also works actively with language development and creates a psychosocial kindergarten environment that promotes well-being and development for all children.
