Joh Gundersen Goldsmith's Shop was established in 1904 by Johan Gundersen and has been a family business ever since. The business moved in 1907 to Storgaten 29, where it is still located today. Mark Thomas Rahd, great-grandson of the founder, is the current owner and runs the business as a master goldsmith. He has his own workshop on the premises, where he carries out repairs, makes new jewelry and appraisers.
The shop specializes in traditional Norwegian silver, especially from Folke Helle, and offers handmade products for the Åmlibunaden. In addition, they have a wide selection of jewelry in gold, silver and diamonds, as well as alliance rings designed for everyday use. Joh Gundersen Goldsmith's Shop is also a dealer of Per Borup Design and Seiko watches. Pre-orders with discounts on traditional Norwegian silver are offered, which may be of interest to customers who want custom-made products.
