The Norwegian Horticultural Museum is located in Dømmesmoen, a park known for its large collections of shrubs, trees, roses and perennials. The museum has exhibitions that highlight the horticultural industry, including wine production at Fuhr and the canning industry in Grimstad. A special exhibition focuses on the ecological interaction between nature, bees and people. Ibsens Urtehave, which is part of the park, contains 80 different varieties of rhubarb.
The museum also offers a café that serves waffles with rhubarb jam, as well as svoler made according to a recipe from Sunnmøre. In addition to these delicacies, visitors can enjoy coffee, tea and cocoa. For those who want a more interactive experience, there are opportunities for guided tours throughout the year, as well as wreath-tying courses with Plantedottir. The pond and the large cave "Dømmesmoeika" are also central elements of the park, providing a scenic setting for the museum experience.
