The Reading Kiosk in Halden is part of the Reading Foundation, which was established in May 2025 by Leser søker bok and the !les Association. The foundation aims to promote reading and literature, and offers development support to authors, illustrators and comic book creators. With over 50 years of experience in the reading industry, the Reading Kiosk has developed into an important player in the dissemination of literature.
The Reading Kiosk supports a number of projects aimed at children, young people and adults, and has developed READING Kiosks from protected telephone booths to make literature more accessible. In addition, they organize various reading projects, such as Bokstart and Leselystprosjekt, to inspire the joy of reading. The Reading Kiosk is also behind literature awards such as the Bokslukerprisen and the Ungdommens Kritikerpris, which recognize and honor outstanding literary works.
