Opera Østfold is known as Norway's largest open-air opera and has been a central player in opera in Halden for over 20 years. During this period, they have developed a varied program that includes both small and large opera performances, as well as special children's performances such as "Barnas Søndag". This provides a unique opportunity for families to experience opera in an adapted form.
In addition to their performances, Opera Østfold has a collaboration with local restaurants, such as The Drunken Chefs, to enrich the experience for visitors. They have also introduced a new kindergarten opera called "Lille Brøl", which is designed to engage the youngest. Students from OperaUng participate in open days at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, which helps to spread the joy of opera and commitment to the performing arts throughout the region.
