St. Torfinns parish was formally established in 1925, but has been a mission station since 1924. The parish covers a large geographical area in Hedmark county, encompassing several municipalities with a total area of 22,689 km². The Catholic Church offers a number of sacraments, including baptism, confirmation, confession, Eucharist, marriage, anointing of the sick and burial.
The parish has an active parish council and a finance committee that helps organize activities and manage resources. In addition, a catechism program is offered for confirmands in 8th and 9th grade, which is part of the parish's focus on youth work and religious education.
